Early childhood education refers to teachings taught to children from birth until eight years of age. That time is crucial, as the development of the brain is at its pinnacle. Children grasp things easily and effortlessly at this age and they are extremely affected by their surroundings. Early childhood education is not only important as it shapes them for primary school, but it also plays a prominent role in their overall development. The holistic development includes a child’s social skills, emotional needs, physical wants, and intellectual rationale which develop them into being capable, responsible human beings with the quality of caring for things they must.

The first teachers are the parents to the child and thus, they need to bond well with their children from the very beginning. The experiences for a child from zero to two years is the basic foundation for them and their emotional, physical, and mental health develops accordingly. The attachment and the relationship the parents have with their offspring molds them, consequently uplifting their emotional power to ace any relationship they withhold in the future. If it is not developed healthily, it can have detrimental effects on the bonds they share and their liberty, impacting their overall image in others’ minds.

The Beginnings

To teach children the basic values of life, fun stories have been written with a moral in the end which tends to feed the correct behavior in children and aligns them towards leading a life full of kindness. If these values are not properly inculcated in them, they might not be able to differentiate the right from the wrong which may lead them to face quite many challenges in life. Another thing that forms an integral part of early childhood education is the generic etiquette that must be taught to children for them to be generous, soft-spoken, well–mannered, and considerate. These teachings are best learned during the development stage. It will mold the child’s personality and behavior considering the emotional and mental growth as well, which will help the child be a desirable human being others love to be around and someone who they look up to, later in life.

The Next Stage

The next stage would be the games children play, as they are not merely for recreational and rejuvenation purposes. They learn from their interactions with others, which helps them gain more and more knowledge in all kinds of games they play from which leadership, cognitive ability, communication, are developed. Playing with others also teaches children to show sensitivity towards their fellows. The toys or tools they use at the start of life teach them to make the most of whatever they have which helps them reach their full potential by solving puzzles, fixing something, or anything else that makes them use their imagination and puts their curiosity to action. Also, the advantages of playing outdoor games for children incorporate their well-being by taking care of their physical being; their weight is managed, they keep active and thus manage their stress level, they learn social skills, they feel hungry and all this will also help them sleep better at night which would keep them fresh all day. Any kind of games played either indoor or outdoor have their plus points and form a versatile way for the child to learn.

Furthermore, early childhood education is said to prevent the child from getting involved in any criminal activities or any unacceptable doings as it teaches them to be courteous and imbibes in them ethics from the beginning. This forms correct and acceptable thinking in children for them to be accountable in the future and can deliver remarkable acquisitions in their development by learning much more, but it needs to be high quality for children to be interested in learning new things and to be able to understand the teachings. Children can be naughty and thus, being able to handle them and getting them to prioritize the learning makes childhood education difficult and not impossible. Being able to handle children and their demands appropriately becomes a challenge but if things pan out in the right manner then it gets rewarding because anything taught to them will be with them throughout their life and hence, being worthy enough to make a difference in someone’s life is pivotal.
